Women prefer flip phones?
A short survey is being conducted by the guys over at m|ph to figure out the answer as to why women prefer flip phones, when in fact the first ever flipper, the StarTAC was inspired by William Shatner’s Communicator.
Practicality? Style? Simplicity? These are a few things being considered to determine why the men have ditched the clams and opted for candy bars.
Prior to their new slew of slider phones, Samsung had a vast line of flip-phones. And, I swear, practically everyone I’ve met who was using a Samsung flip was a female. Ditto for flips from Panasonic and from LG. And even with Nokia’s new flips, it is the women who are going for them. Heck, I can count the total number of men that I have seen using flips with just one hand.

I admit it, I prefer flip phones! Mostly, I just like flipping them open. It gives me a sense of satisfaction. I like trying to see if I can get it open with a swift flick of the wrist. It’s quite stylish - but usually ends with me sending my phone flying across a room.
Plus, snapping them closed gives a sense of closure to a conversation. It’s more satisfying than just pressing a button. Pff. :D

ingrid, you gave me a new insight as to why flippers are better - the whole “closure to a conversation” makes a lot of sense. ill be sure to take note of that.
