Will the real phone please stand up?

by Jayvee on June 7th, 2006

There’s one phone feature that I really consider to be all important when buying a phone. In fact, manufacturers don’t even take this into account as an end in itself. It just so happens that some phones can do it while others can’t. And usually, the slim and stylish phones can’t!

I’m talking about making your phone stand on the table. Yup. Not a lot of phones can do this, and why pray tell? Why would you want to do this? Because it looks really cool.

(guy enters bar and props a W900i on the counter, standing up of course)

Girl: Hey nice phone.
Guy: Yeah, and it wants your number.

In fact, if you make your phone stand upright, and then make a call to it, then - assuming you have a vibrating alert - you can make it dance on the table.

Try it out - it turns out that at least on Nokia phones different ringing tones create different dance patterns.

i think the dance patterns are highly dependent on where the vibrator is located. :)
