ROKR E2

by Jayvee on January 6th, 2006

Two posts ago, I wrote something about the ROKR. Take a look at the ROKR E2 video from CES 2006.

Okay, I’m going to shut up now with these predictions of mine.

(Jayvee contemplates a bit on what Motorola just did…)

And a voice cried out from the wilderness:

But why!?!?!!!?!??!

After watching the video though, the ROKR E2 seems to be a very promising piece of hardware because it totally scrapped the whole 100-song iTunes limiting factor. Heck, it totally scrapped iTunes and comes with Motorola’s proprietary media player.

Other neat features include Motorola’s iRadio, a Bluetooth media streaming application, an SD expansion slot for media, USB 2.0, and a 1.3Mp camera.

So when the time comes that you do buy a ROKR E2, don’t be fooled to thinking that the E2 is anything like the first iteration. In fact, I’m willing to erase the E1 from my head and just go with this GSM wonder.

Come to think of it, it may be possible that Motorola just jumped the Apple bandwagon to gain the brand recognition for the ROKR, pulled it out, and made its own tracks with the ROKR E2, calling it it’s own product.
