The Nokia N92

by Jayvee on November 18th, 2005

I’m giggling like a kid now. I can’t wait to show this post to my friend who bought a Nokia N90 last week. Maybe I should start off with a nonchalant gesture - “hey have you seen the replacement of the Noki — oh.. err .. yeah the N90 is good too….” Or maybe i should go, “Hey dude remember you asked about the N90? Well don’t buy it yet because they’re coming out with a new …. oh. Nice phone, that N90 you got…”

Shown from various forums including Howard Forums, Symbian Freak, and Mobile Review, the successor to the Nokia 90 is the same thing with upgrades:

Some specs include:
Carl Zeiss 3MP camera with 3x optical zoom (!!!)
UMTS / EDGE
802.11b and Bluetooth 1.2 (WiFi? Hmm ..)

The more obvious changes are the silvery metal polish adorning the phone’s real estate as well as a Motorola MPx mode - because it looks like one when you flip the phone cover hinge. This allows the phone to take landscape configuration. The only use I see for this is for taking video / photos with the phone on the palm of your hand.

Translated by Symbian Freak’s Moonlight Cat:

Beyond the musical functions, Nokia also announced the exit during 2006 of N92. The limits were still pushed back, since one is in presence with this model of a terminal DVB-H allowing to receive the TNT directly on the mobile. N92 takes again form Factor of N90, but there still, Nokia widened the technical capabilities, since one finds optics Carl Zeiss autofocus of N90, but the sensor proposes 3 now Megapixels as well as an optical zoom 3X. Of course all these terminals are UMTS/EDGE and embarks WiFi 802.11g and Bluetooth 1.2. N92, as for him, is of now-and-already compatible HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and will propose, at the end of 2006, of the flows still increased on the networks of the mobile operators having already announced their engagement in this standard: Orange and Bouygues Telecom.

    Oh man, I’m gonna puke.

Canada is like the cell-phone retardo country of the world. All our stuff is revamped Windows Mobile crap. I’m going to move just to get a better phone.

    Is that wrong?

    Jayvee,

That’s a nice phone! Looks a little big though in your hands from the side view? How’s it weigh?

wish those were my hands philip! i was able to keep the n92’s ancestor for a few days though. its bulky and heavy. so with this one, im not yet quite sure but im assuming its the same.
