The difference between a computer and a phone

by Jayvee on March 14th, 2007

eatoni-ad.jpgThis ad caught my eye. It is a vertical banner ad for eatoni.com which is a product that simulates something close to the BlackBerry SureType mode of texting. What it does is reorient your numerical keypad into a QWERTY keypad design. By pressing the number “1″ for instance, you get to choose between the letters “QWER.” It is supposedly intelligent with its dictionary.

Product aside, the ad got me thinking that really - computers and phones aren’t very different nowadays as you can achieve the same level of productivity on your phone as with your laptop or desktop. You are only limited by the amount of endurance you can take typing things on a small numerical keypad.

i think that the operating systems used by the computer is extremely different from that of phones and also obviously the size also specify a difference. Because i have not seen any phone that is bigger than a personal computer so far.
