Canada to get only 10 or 20 iPhone 3G phones per store, incurs wrath of Jobs

Steve Jobs is mad. He’s mad at Canada. Not at the Canadians in particular. but to Canadian telcos who are described to have the most horrid data plans, it makes the whole thing disgusting. Tris from Maple Leaf 2.0 has A LOT to say about this.
The 6 Apple Stores in Canada will demo the iPhone […]

iPhone 3G in the 17 Millions // Rates from around the world

The iPhone is unstoppable with 17 million in pre-orders from around the world (of course, we also have the perspective that whatever the iPhone sells in a month, Nokia sells in a week, but still…). Canadian telco Rogers has announced their rates at Canadian $60 to $115 per month. Sweden has pegged their rates at […]

Nokia Connection 2008 Day 1: Two new enterprise phones, closer look at N-Gage

Singapore has been the preferred venue for regional communications conferences such as CommunicAsia. This year is no different with CommunicAsia 2008 currently ongoing. But that’s just one side of the coin. I was lucky enough to have been invited to Nokia’s very own Nokia Connection 2008 and tonight capped Day 1 of the ceremonies. Here’s […]

Pre WWDC Poll: What could be the 3G iPhone’s most kick ass feature?

We don’t need to say it over and over again. As the momentum builds up to Apple’s WWDC on the 9th, there seems to be huge speculation that the latest iPhone isn’t just going to be thinner and 3G compatible.
With the way Microsoft has relaunched the Zune to feature a very solid subscription based […]

Nokia Connect 2008 Singapore

Just a quick word out — I’ll be attending Nokia Connect this June 16-18 2008 in Singapore. Sadly though I don’t think I would be able to make it to Communicasia ‘08 as this is just days apart. Nonetheless, if there are any tech journos or bloggers interested in meeting up during the conference, that […]

3G iPhone in May 2008?

Well, it seems that the iPhone is getting an overhaul in two months. By May 2008, the Apple iPhone will have been upgraded to 3G instead of EDGE, says NewsFactor.
Exciting? Too good to be true?
Don’t believe everything that you hear or read on April 1 folks!

PhoneFavs: Bookmarking from your desktop to your mobile

Recently got a heads up to try out PhoneFavs, a site dedicated to mobile bookmarking on your phone. Here’s a quote from the press release that talks about what the service does:

With PhoneFavs, users can store, organize and share bookmarks and access them on any device, anywhere. PhoneFavs’ deceptively simple homepage serves as a gateway […]

3G iPhone: Who cares?

If the iPhone rumors are true, we will be seeing a 3G capable iPhone by June not just in the West, but in Asia. Does this make it any more attractive for consumers? Most might say yes - especially if you’re from the West. But with crappy 3G services from places like the Philippines, 3G […]

Level-Up offers Gamer SIM and grabs gamer market share

Was sitting in at a panel discussion last night for an informal eCommerce thing in Manila, Philippines. My co-panelist JC Medina of Level-Up Philippines was talking about a new Level-Up Gamer SIM card. For those not in the loop, Level-Up is probably the brand name of gaming in Asia as they hold the franchise of […]
