Should I take out my cellphone during a storm?

by Jayvee on June 24th, 2006

Yes. If you want to die. No. If you want to live.

Damn. Though its a little too general to claim that cellphones and storms don’t go together, it does make sense not to bring out metal objects during a storm. But wait, isn’t a phone made of plastic?

“This rare phenomenon is a public health issue, and education is necessary to highlight the risk of using mobile phones outdoors during stormy weather to prevent future fatal consequences from lighting strike injuries,” said Swinda Esprit, a doctor at Northwick Park Hospital in England.
