PhoneFavs: Bookmarking from your desktop to your mobile
Recently got a heads up to try out PhoneFavs, a site dedicated to mobile bookmarking on your phone. Here’s a quote from the press release that talks about what the service does:
With PhoneFavs, users can store, organize and share bookmarks and access them on any device, anywhere. PhoneFavs’ deceptively simple homepage serves as a gateway to PhoneFav’s three main services: online bookmarks or Favs, a handpicked mobile link directory, and a “mobilizer” which automatically adapts standard web pages for improved viewing on smaller screen devices.
PhoneFavs solves the problem of “how do I start and where do I go to find information and entertainment on the mobile web.” With a free account, users can enjoy the social bookmarking features and create their own customizable mobile homepage. Users can also import their existing bookmarks from del.icio.us, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer and browse for the latest software for their smartphone.
In summary, PhoneFavs allows you to bookmark stuff on your browser and access them easily on your phone. I still don’t know what makes the service truly innovative but only time will tell. They should honestly make an iPhone optimized site alongside their standard one. It’s been revealed that in the web browsing pie, there are actually more iPhone users who regularly browse the Internet than the total number of Windows Mobile users combined. That was taken from one of the latter episodes of TWiT.
What a market!
