I must say, this is one of the more interesting viral campaigns of Nokia. I invite my dear readers to check out the Face the Task campaign. If you have a webcam on your computer, even better!
Indonesian-based telco company Raztel has released the M880 a phone specifically meant to target the needs of Moslems around the globe.
What made Raztel M880 will become so special for Moslems is not only it supports Koran but it will also gives users the Tafsir of Koran and Hadith. However, users should learn to get accustomed with its 2,6 inch screen, which I think still too small to enjoy the ayahs of Koran.
Beside those features, Raztel M880 also has other Islamic built-in features such as Qibla indicator and world prayer times.
In terms of features, the M880 is highlighted by its dual SIM capability, 1.3MP camera, music and video playback.
With high expectations, Matias Duarte, the one famous for the Sidekick’s extremely friendly UI allegedly moves to Palm.
So it’s time to bring in the big guns. With Palm’s latest disappointment with the Foleo and the not-so-great worldwide response to the Centro, Palm plans to reinvent themselves once again starting with a revolutionary operating system. In retrospect, the Palm OS was the crown jewel in the early 2000’s because of its simplicity, common sensical approach to computing. It wasn’t a heavy developer nightmare to write for and the Palm devices were attractive to consumers. Today we have that same sort of thing - but in the form of Apple’s iPhone and soon, Google Android. To wow consumers, Palm really needs to think several miles outside the box.
Personally a move to wow audiences would be to go the other direction and reinvent the QWERTY thumb board to something we’ve never seen before.
It’s simple really. All it involves is a SIM swap and reconfiguring the iPhone as a current iPhone customer in iTunes. Any geek can figure this out but here’s a demo video to show you exactly how it is done.
This video gives detailed information about AT&T’s iReady Program to help consumers figure out how they can actually go about buying or upgrading to an iPhone 3G on the 1th of July. There are three categories for consumers:
1. I have an original iPhone and I want to upgrade it to the iPhone 3G
2. I want to upgrade my iPhone and I’m eligible for upgrade pricing
3.I want to upgrade my iPhone but I am not yet eligible for the upgraded pricing scheme
If you don’t fall into these categories it means that you aren’t an AT&T customer. But that doesn’t mean that AT&T will not sell you an iPhone 3G. Watch the video below to see how to apply for an AT&T line with an iPhone 3G:
AT&T has released the official iPhone 3G pricing. We all know about the ultra-cheap $199.00 deal but now its time to go in depth with the catches and fine print.
Here are the plans the iPhone 3G will come with corresponding costs:
AT&T NationSM Unlimited: Includes unlimited Anytime Minutes for $129.99 a month. AT&T Nation 1350: Includes 1350 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $109.99 a month. AT&T Nation 900: Includes 900 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $89.99 a month. AT&T Nation 450: Includes 450 Anytime Minutes and 5,000 Night & Weekend Minutes for $69.99 a month.
Now here’s the catch. Not everyone can actually purchase the new iPhone 3G for $199.00:
iPhone 3G will be available for $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model. These prices require two-year contracts and are available to the following customers:
* iPhone customers who purchased before July 11
* Customers activating a new line with AT&T
* Current AT&T customers who are eligible, at the time of purchase, for an upgrade discount
Existing AT&T customers who are not currently eligible for an upgrade discount can purchase iPhone 3G for $399 for the 8GB model or $499 for the 16GB model. Both options require a new two-year service agreement. In the future, AT&T will offer a no-contract-required option for $599 (8GB) or $699 (16GB).
Current customers may also choose to wait until they become eligible for an upgrade discount. Eligibility is generally determined by amount of time remaining on a current contract and payment history.
Current AT&T customers who are upgrading to iPhone 3G will pay an $18 upgrade fee and new AT&T customers will pay the standard $36 activation fee.
For more information, you can head on to AT&T’s iPhone 3G product page that gives more information on AT&T plans and the second coming of Jesus.
So there’s Twitter - a social crowd control tool that by chance just grew into that sort of thing.
Here’s something similar in effect but different in execution: FrontlineSMS is a desktop client that resembles a good mass SMS client that’s specifically meant for keeping a huge number of people up to date with activities. FrontlineSMS has been used mostly by NGOs in elections, event organizing, updating students with school curricula, and the like. The possibilities are varied with your fully customizable campaign. Best of all, the client is free!
The iPhone is unstoppable with 17 million in pre-orders from around the world (of course, we also have the perspective that whatever the iPhone sells in a month, Nokia sells in a week, but still…). Canadian telco Rogers has announced their rates at Canadian $60 to $115 per month. Sweden has pegged their rates at $50.00 and Norway at $80.00. In Asia, the rumored price of the iPhone is a $200.00 initial fee with about $50.00 in monthly.
