Nokia’s Zero Waste Charger

by User ImageJayvee on May 2nd, 2008

Several weeks ago, Nokia sent out a public service announcement on chargers. By unplugging your charger when your phone is fully charged, you save on electricity - lots of it. Nokia has gone the extra mile by revealing new phone concepts.

The Zero Waste Charger is an example of this. What does it do? Well, simply put, this phone tells the charger that it is fully charged and the charger will in turn stop pumping in electricity even if it is plugged in. Good move - shouldn’t something like this have been invented long ago? It seems that the green campaign is slowly rooting into society, first with our hybrid cars and now with everyday technology.

Hey! I just stopped by to see what phones you were talking about (son has requested one for his birthday — yeh, he’s going to be TEN) and I see this great post. You always offer up the best resources, Jayvee. ;)

I wonder when Nokia is going to release this for sale?
