Maria Sharapova signed by Sony Ericsson

If Motorola has David Beckam, Sony Ericsson has Maria Sharapova. The 20 year old Russian tennis player has signed a four year deal with Sony Ericsson to become the company’s first global brand icon. Sharapova will be involved in off court campaigns and will have some say in the design process of new Sony Ericsson accessories and handsets.

And yeah, speaking of scantily clad women…

In other news, Sony Ericsson has closed the sponsorship deal with MGM and the latest James Bond movie franchise - Quantum of Solace. In this light, they are launching a special edition of the SE C902 candybar with a rich serving of content.
