I won a Nokia 6680

by Jayvee on May 3rd, 2006

“Nah I’m not going to win anything today” exclaimed I when the emcee announced a raffle after attending tha launch of HSDPA in the Philippines. There were six prizes up for grabs. Three of them were not so interesting prepaid cards for phone services and the last three were 3G capable mobile phones.

“I mean the last thing I won was a gift certificate for a department store (which I didn’t actually win because I left the event).”

“Maybe I’ll take a trip to the bathroom before–”

Emcee: And the last winner of the Nokia 6680 is Jayvee Fernandez.

I won!Eeek! So I stand up and walk to the stage and the guy asks if I was willing to donate the prize and I go, “over my dead body!”

So the question now is what to do with the phone. I currently have a Sony Ericsson k700i which has a subpar camera and no 3G services compared to the 6680. What it does have is a more faithful Bluetooth connection with my iBook and that really matters. But then again, the 6680 can store much more contacts compared to the k700i that can only store about 500.

Or I could sell both phones and my iPod shuffle and get myself a W550i or a W800i since I have not that much use for 3G (I am usually in a WiFi hotspot). Plus I get to save some cash. Any suggestions?
