I won a Motorola ROKR E2

by Jayvee on September 26th, 2006

rokre2.jpgWell lo and behold, I was at a press launch and won a Motorola ROKR E2 during the raffle. The ROKR E2 was a highlight when it was first introduced because of its bold breakaway from supporting iTunes on a mobile phone.

As of late, I’m still giddy about my new phone so let me just link up to the following reviews and community sites:

  • The Motorola ROKR E2 as the highlight of CES
  • The ROKR E2 tech specs sheet
  • One thing I will say though is that Motorola is now using the Chameleon Linux Java platform for this model so I guess it will be compatible with .. everything? Only time will tell!

    Full review to follow!

The phone kinda looks platicky. I hope it’s not expensive. Because if it is, then it might not do well in the market. Be careful with that joystick. Moto joysticks tend to wear out pretty quickly.

      dan,

the funny thing is that motorola used to be known for their very sturdy design.

not sure about now. i guess only time will tell.

I agree with you. I actually am kind of a fan of moto, and am currently using a black v3i. Used to have a C651 - the purple one with a joystick similar to the one on the Rokr E2. After a while, the joystick gave up on me. Had to pay moto 500 bucks for a replacement joystick. My father uses it now, and so far has no complaints except for the small crack on the casing. After the C651, I vowed to myself to still get a moto, but never any model with joystick. But then again, who can argue with free! hehe…
