Have you ever tried Covert Ops SMS?

Especially when your girlfriends are out together to set you up with a blind date, there’s always the “backup plan” in case the conversation doesn’t go too well. A quick planted SMS or call can turn your date into a “hey my friend was rushed to the hospital and I really need to go. I’m so sorry. See you around.”

It is an unsaid rule to never text while on a leaning-towards-formal dinner date. You would have to say “excuse me” if you really had to read an incoming message and pardon yourself once more by saying “I really need to answer this message.” Which is why I sorta get paranoid when my date always whips out her phone to check for incoming messages. I dunno … am I that boring?
I mean, I try to give good advice :)

Some people are just too attached to their phones and whoever they’re texting, while some are just plain impolite.

I agree with markku, but I’ve also done something like this - I had to call a friend to save her from a boring date.
