FlashBack Friday: Sony Ericsson Shake Control

by Jayvee on June 12th, 2008

FlashBack!

Last year, about this time, I wrote about how Sony Ericsson was working on their “Shake Control” handsets. Has anyone seen these ever since? Looks like the technology isn’t really going too far:

Sony Ericsson has introduced their Shake Control technology to their line of Walkman phones. Shake Control allows you to browse through your music playlist literally with the flick of the wrist. From the instructional text, shakiin your phone to the left or right will trigger the playlist to move to the next or previous songs. Shaking the phone vehemently will shuffle the playlist.

Methinks the accelerometer technology won’t go this far. Twitching and shaking a mobile phone to full functionality is really a misnomer.
