Cellphone radiation levels
CNET has offered a public service thingamajig, posting a chart of the top irradiated phones ever made. “According to the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA), SAR or specific absorption rate is “a way of measuring the quantity of radiofrequency (RF) energy that is absorbed by the body.” For a phone to pass FCC certification, that phone’s maximum SAR level must be less than 1.6W/kg (watts per kilogram). In Europe, the level is capped at 2W/kg. The SAR level listed in our chart represents the maximum SAR level with the phone next to the ear, a level obtained through required FCC tests.” (Source)

So what does this all mean? Well, nothing really. The effects of mobile phone radiation has been played with over and over again to the point that it’s been hyped as an urban legend. Remember the exploding gas pumps incidents?
The term ‘harmful’ is pretty relative. I mean, if we want to take this debate to the dogs, I could very well say that the sun’s rays also do emit radiation - which is why the harmful effects of beach tanning will eventually catch up on your skin after 20 or so years. But I digress!

they disproved the exploding gas thing and this radiation thingamajiggy in Mythbusters (Discovery Channel).
