FlashBack Friday: The Microsoft oPhone Parody

In this issue of FlashBack Friday we look back to one year ago where some guys from Microsoft released the viral video promoting the “oPhone.” One year forward, the Jesus Phone has its share of critics from delayed SDK’s to worldwide release delays (the iPhone is only coming into Asia now, and really, the hype […]

Cellphone9 Links: New iPhone Colors, New BlackBerrys, The Apple vs The Berry, and more!

Apple 3G iPhone goes Black — apparently just a case; and then we realize that it is indeed real because AT&T says so.
Fold a paper into many squares and you get a space saver. The same thing applies to this concept phone, the Packet Concept Phone. And yes, it is enviro-friendly as well!
As much […]

Globe, SingTel, Bharti Airtel and Optus to carry iPhones in Asia

Really, there is no need for more words so I’m quoting the shortest press release ever made:

Manila, 12 May 2008 – Globe, SingTel, Bharti Airtel and Optus today announced that they have signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to the Philippines, Singapore, India, and Australia later this year.
More information will be […]

Void your iPhone warranty with 2.0MP camera replacement

The iPhone already comes with a 2.0MP camera. Replacing it using third party parts would not only be a little stupid but it also voids the warranty. However, if you’ve trashed your iPhone camera and live in a country that does not officially support the iPhone, then you can replace it for $40.00 with shipping.

iPhone 2.0 will REALLY be out in Asia

The article says it is true - the iPhone will be popping up in Australia as early as June of this year. And what makes this piece of information even more groundbreaking is that Australia, and yes, I would like to speculate that even Asia will be receiving their version 2.0 iPhone with 3G. The […]

SDK + no multitasking = IM client for 3G iPhone

There’s a leak that supports the 3G iPhone in May of 2008. According to Kevin Rose in episode 142 of Diggnation, there is a reason why the iPhone SDK doesn’t allow you to do app switching.

The rumor is that Apple is working on a kick ass IM client for the iPhone, presumably — and […]

3G iPhone in May 2008?

Well, it seems that the iPhone is getting an overhaul in two months. By May 2008, the Apple iPhone will have been upgraded to 3G instead of EDGE, says NewsFactor.
Exciting? Too good to be true?
Don’t believe everything that you hear or read on April 1 folks!

Social networking and being more “fluid”

Arrington from Tech Crunch has some thoughts about an iPhone-only social network. Branding from the elitist persona of Apple fanboys (like me, kidding) allows such things to become quick realities.

I personally think that these niche social networking applications (like that on the iPhone) is highly “liquidated” only when the application is very much integrated […]

16GB iPhone upgrade at the Apple Store

To make space for those developer applications, Apple has released the 16GB iPhone together with the 32GB iPod touch. The 16GB iPhone retails for US $499.00 which is the same price the 32GB iPod touch sells for. As these series of events occur we are beginning to see the settling price of the iPhone as […]

“MacBook Air shudda had more wireless options”

Then again, if the MacBook Air had HSDPA capabilities via built in SIM card slot, it might have cannibalized iPhone sales.
—–
Then again, if Apple could have convinced Intel to manufacture a really tiny chip for the MacBook Air, they should have bundled the technology to do HSDPA as well.

These two bold conclusions (literally) illustrate some […]
