Auto complete on phones suck
When I was using a PDA to compose SMS about three years ago, I used an application that could auto complete certain words. The app would kick in giving the top three probable words I was about to write after inputting the third letter of the word. This was useful and efficient.
I wish I could say the same thing with mobile phones. Auto complete is a big bummer on the ROKR E2 so I gladly turned it off. It would try to complete all the words I type even by just inputting the first letter.
This isn’t really a fault of Motorola, but more of the attitude people take when composing SMS. It is actually an art in itself, coming up with different shortcut terms, making every person’s SMS look unique. Terms like “com hir” or “m hir” or “go2 d grocery 2 by mlk.” Auto complete on a phone spells out the whole word, stretching your 160 character limit per SMS.
Does your phone have an auto complete function? Do you actually use it?

Try setting your input mode to “Tap English.” Moto’s tap is actually pretty cool. While texting, it occassionally suggests to you some words that you use often. When I type in “pinap”, my v3i suggests the word “pinapagawa.” I use this word a lot when I text someone that i couldn’t go home yet because “may pinapagawa pa boss ko”. The phone seems to memorize the words i often use.
I have to say: Intelligence Everywhere.
